Earlier this year I had to choose a topic for my Master’s degree dissertation. As my interest lay in the field of neural networks, a.k.a deep learning, I decided to research how they can be applied to keeping children safe. I will share the details of the project later when I get good results. Meanwhile, take a look at a fun technique in convolutional neural networks called neural style transfer. Using this technique we can merge the style of one image into the content of the other to create a combined third image.

My favourite is Picasso’s version of Leonardo DiCaprio. I deliberately chose DiCaprio’s portrait in brown shade so that the generated image will be as close to the original as possible.
